PISD school board

According to the local rag the PISD school board is acting up again! Seems to be a constant theme. Seems like these guys need to get off their duff and start making some real decisions. At the coffeeshop round table it was discussed that the Intermediate campus only teaches science once a week. When asked the reason why such an important subject is only visited weekly it was reported that one of the principals responded that TAKS/TEKS for science is not tested until Jr. High. SO!

For those who know the importance of an education and how far behind the US has become in the world picture if this statement is true then the principal should be sent packing. You provide your best educational foundation in the years prior to high school. Science, Math, Grammar, and Reading should be taught everyday period. It is a proven fact that a child's curiosity leads to his future career choice. If he/she is not getting the opportunity to be curious in a positive manner in the field of science then most likely they will not pursue a career in the field of science. Not to mention you make the job that much harder for those Jr. High teachers who do teach and prepare for TAKS/TEKS science. Educators today think just 'backasswards' of the way they should be thinking. Must be something being taught in the university system.

There was something to that old school of reading, writing, and arithmetic. Another direct reflection on the poor leadership this PISD board has chosen and continues to allow to exist. Twi-light Super and crew are failing in their roles proper school leaders.

When is the PISD board going to step up to the plate and ask these folks to pack their bags in the name of a better educational system and educational leadership for the sake of the students? The boat needs to be rocked until it turns over!
