Tax Cuts Start April 1, Obama Says

THANK YOU MR PRESIDENT FOR THE $65...It will really come in handy now that you say I have to pay my neighbor's mortgage along with my own, do you want me to pay for his Escalade too? What about that Prada purse his wife has? And those $300 "Air Jordans that his son has? Cause I don't wanna complain, and I understand that Mr Rezko helped you get your house and you can now fly everywhere for free..gosh you seem to luv that perk but Mr President $65 A FREAKING MONTH IS NOT ENOUGH TO PAY THAT DEADBEATS MORTGAGE! ARE YOU LISTENING MR PRESIDENT?

Does anybody on this board have a TV, radio or computer? Huh? Every other news story is about local and state governments increasing taxes to cover their shortfalls in revenue. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GET TO KEEP YOUR $13 A WEEK ANYWAY. WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone please explain how banks were forced to make bad loans? Fannie and Freddie were created by the Gov. but were publicly traded and privately owned!

Have you noticed about Obama - everything is about "never before" "the biggest" "the boldest" - this guy is more about competition and superiority then he is about the welfare of this country. He's an egomaniac. So far, what we have seen & heard from him is scolding, pontificating, cajoling and wine and dine the opposition. We have seen everything but leadership.

Obama and Twi-light Super would make a nice pair. Their inability to lead and manage could destroy a battleship!

Former state Rep. Fred Hill now lobbying on behalf of cities, counties
Posted By Jennifer Peebles On February 19, 2009

With 20 years’ experience in the state legislature, the Richardson Republican [2] once talked his fellow House members out of passing a property tax cap that both the governor and the famously autocratic [3] House Speaker Tom Craddick supported. He chaired the state [4] House Local Government Ways and Means Committee. The [5] Texas Municipal League [6] inducted him into its hall of fame for state legislators.
Hill may have left the legislature in early January, but he still has clout. And he’s still being paid with Texans’ tax dollars.

That’s because he’s the latest lawmaker to go through Capitol Hill’s revolving door and become a lobbyist. Hill is now representing a handful of north Texas city and town governments in Austin this year, work for which he would be paid between $395,000-$699,990 this year. Also among his clients are the [7] Dallas Area Rapid Transit system and two local government groups who collect dues from their member local governments.
In making the change, he’s joined a small army of former legislators-turned-lobbyists at the statehouse. A [8]
2005 study by the Washington-based nonprofit Center for Public Integrity found 70 former legislators lobbying then at the Texas capitol, more than in any other state.

Critics of the revolving door say voters and taxpayers are unable to tell when lawmakers stop thinking like lawmakers and start thinking like someone on the hunt for a job. And in Hill’s case – like many others who have waltzed through the revolving door – he went hunting for work from entities that had much to gain or lose from the actions on his committee: local governments.

He registered his firm, a limited liability corporation called Solutions for Local Control, with the Secretary of State’s office on Nov. 20, records show.

In most cases, lawmakers don’t start lobbying duties until their replacement is sworn in. This year, that would have been Jan. 13. But by Jan. 3, the former chairman of the House Local Government Ways and Means Committee was asking for business from local governments.

That’s OK, according to Hill — he says he formally resigned via letter to the governor on Jan. 2.
“This doesn’t pass the smell test,” said Peggy Venable, who leads the Texas branch of Americans For Prosperity, a fiscally conservative taxpayer watchdog. “When did he stop being a representative for his constituents and start being a representative for his lobbying interests?”

Hill says he’s not a lobbyist in the traditional sense. He’s signed on to work for local governments because he believes in fighting for taxpayers and for local control. Former State Representative now registered lobbyist Hill must believe that we are all CRAZY. He has never represented the taxpayers interest. He has always supported the interest of those receiving entities. He did not join up with AFP and the likes, he signed up to lobby for TML, local cities, etc. Signed up to work for local control, you bet the control to take more from mine and your pockets. Drastic difference in taxpayer and tax receiver! What a bone head statement.

Catching up

Been catching up on reading the local rag from being out of town and traveling and came across the article from the school board meeting in which one school board member questioned Twi-light Super with regards to violating a local board policy. It appears that Twi-light Super even admits to doing wrong when she violated local board policy with the employment of an attorney that was not approved by the Pittsburg ISD board. Folks, I don't know about where you work, but most employers would terminate an employee for violating a board policy. Athletes are dismissed from teams for breaking team rules and policies.

Employees are dismissed for breaking policies so that no other employee can ever break a policy and get by with a violation. It protects the employer. It appears from reading the article the PISD board has chosen to disregard the local board policy violation. This is fine and dandy! Now the next time the PISD wants to dismiss an employee for violation of a board policy the board will have no option but to let the employee stay employed. If they terminate the employee they risk a lawsuit for they let Twi-light Super violate a local board policy and they kept her on the payroll. Regardless of their feelings with the Richardson gentlemen the board has made a major mistake in allowing Twi-light Super to remain employed. At the very least a notation should be directed to her personnel file to build a case to terminate her employment with the PISD.

Now what kind of message does this send to a student? It is OK to violate a policy for there will be no punishment. Let some good lawyer get a hold of this and it want take long to clean out the $11 million plus reserve maintained by the PISD.

Many in the community are wanting to know what damaging information does Twi-light Super have on the members of the PISD board. It must be big enough that they are willing to let Twi-light Super sink the PISD ship! Some insiders at the PISD are saying Twi-light Super is destroying morale, and hiring the culls from other local ISDs. PISD board needs to wake-up before you get an "I told you so" branding.

To All My Valued Employees

This has been forwarded to me and it looks like a million others, but I just felt the need to place a copy here.

To all my valued employees,

There have been some rumblings around the office about the future of this company, and more specifically, your job. As you know, the economy has changed for the worse and presents many challenges. However, the good news is this: The economy doesn't pose a threat to your job. What does threaten your job however, is the changing political landscape in this country.

However, let me tell you some little tidbits of fact which might help you decide what is in your best interests.

First, while it is easy to spew rhetoric that casts employers against employees, you have to understand that for every business owner there is a back story. This back story is often neglected and overshadowed by what you see and hear. Sure, you see me park my Mercedes outside. You've seen my big home at last years Christmas party. I'm sure; all these flashy icons of luxury conjure up some idealized thoughts about my life.

However, what you don't see is the back story.

I started this company 28 years ago. At that time, I lived in a 300 square foot studio apartment for 3 years. My entire living apartment was converted into an office so I could put forth 100% effort into building a company, which by the way, would eventually employ you.

My diet consisted of Ramen Pride noodles because every dollar I spent went back into this company. I drove a rusty Toyota Corolla with a defective transmission. I didn't have time to date. Often times, I stayed home on weekends, while my friends went out drinking and partying. In fact, I was married to my business - hard work, discipline, and sacrifice. Meanwhile, my friends got jobs. They worked 40 hours a week and made a modest $50K a year and spent every dime they earned. They drove flashy cars and lived in expensive homes and wore fancy designer clothes. Instead of hitting the Nordstrom's for the latest hot fashion item, I was trolling through the discount store extracting any clothing item that didn't look like it was birthed in the 70's. My friends refinanced their mortgages and lived a life of luxury. I, however, did not. I put my time, my money, and my life into a business with a vision that eventually, some day, I too, will be able to afford these luxuries my friends supposedly had.

So, while you physically arrive at the office at 9am, mentally check in at about noon, and then leave at 5pm, I don't. There is no "off" button for me. When you leave the office, you are done and you have a weekend all to yourself. I unfortunately do not have the freedom. I eat, and breathe this company every minute of the day. There is no rest. There is no weekend. There is no happy hour. Every day this business is attached to my hip like a 1 year old special-needs child. You, of course, only see the fruits of that garden - the nice house, the Mercedes, the vacations ... you never realize the back story and the sacrifices I've made.

Now, the economy is falling apart and I, the guy that made all the right decisions and saved his money, have to bail-out all the people who didn't. The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed a decade of my life for.

Yes, business ownership has is benefits but the price I've paid is steep and not without wounds.

Unfortunately, the cost of running this business, and employing you, is starting to eclipse the threshold of marginal benefit and let me tell you why:

I am being taxed to death and the government thinks I don't pay enough. I have state taxes. Federal taxes. Property taxes. Sales and use taxes. Payroll taxes. Workers compensation taxes. Unemployment taxes. Taxes on taxes. I have to hire a tax man to manage all these taxes and then guess what? I have to pay taxes for employing him. Government mandates and regulations and all the accounting that goes with it, now occupy most of my time. On Oct 15th, I wrote a check to the US Treasury for $288,000 for quarterly taxes. You know what my "stimulus" check was? Zero. Nada. Zilch.

The question I have is this: Who is stimulating the economy?

Me, the guy who has provided 14 people good paying jobs and serves over 2,200,000 people per year with a flourishing business? Or, the single mother sitting at home pregnant with her fourth child waiting for her next welfare check? Obviously, government feels the latter is the economic stimulus of this country.

The fact is, if I deducted (Read: Stole) 50% of your paycheck you'd quit and you wouldn't work here. I mean, why should you? That's nuts. Who wants to get rewarded only 50% of their hard work? Well, I agree which is why your job is in jeopardy.

Here is what many of you don't understand ... to stimulate the economy you need to stimulate what runs the economy. Had suddenly government mandated to me that I didn't need to pay taxes, guess what? Instead of depositing that $288,000 into the Washington black-hole, I would have spent it, hired more employees, and generated substantial economic growth. My employees would have enjoyed the wealth of that tax cut in the form of promotions and better salaries. But you can forget it now.

When you have a comatose man on the verge of death, you don't defibrillate and shock his thumb thinking that will bring him back to life, do you? Or, do you defibrillate his heart? Business is at the heart of America and always has been. To restart it, you must stimulate it, not kill it. Suddenly, the power brokers in Washington believe the poor of America are the essential drivers of the American economic engine. Nothing could be further from the truth and this is the type of change you can keep.

So where am I going with all this? It's quite simple.

If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, my reaction will be swift and simple. I fire you. I fire your co-workers. You can then plead with the government to pay for your mortgage, your SUV, and your child's future. Frankly, it isn't my problem any more.

Then, I will close this company down, move to another country, and retire. You see, I'm done. I'm done with a country that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. My motivation to work and to provide jobs will be destroyed, and with it, will be my citizenship.

So, if you lose your job, it won't be at the hands of the economy; it will be at the hands of a political hurricane that swept through this country, steamrolled the constitution, and will have changed its landscape forever. If that happens, you can find me sitting on a beach, retired, and with no employees to worry about ...

Signed,
Your boss

You cannot legislate the poor into freedom

This comes to me from one of the local church periodicals that was handed to me at one of the local coffee shop round tables. I find it most appropriate in this day of financial uncertainty.

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.
What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
The late Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 - 2005

I favor God, country and apple pie – make that pecan pie – I’m a Texan, after all. However, I just can't seem to make sense out of all the financial stimulus doublespeak these days. I am really beginning to wonder if we don't have a bunch of inexperienced PhD's conducting experiments at the expense of the American financial community. For some reason this all seems to be leading down the red brick road of socialism.

I was really bothered by a statement President Obama made in his first live news conference and it went something like this: "only the government can pull us out." It is evident the government knows not what it is doing. If the overall goal is the equalization of wealth then we are headed down that red brick road. I don't get warm and fuzzy when I hear things like "limit the amount of pay", "support the union check-off option for it will be good", and "the stimulus will solve all our problems." Reward should be based upon hard work and persistence. If I work hard then why would I want to share with someone who fails to have the desire to work? Don't get me wrong for I am all for the equal thing, but only to the extent of having an equal opportunity. If I desire to equalize and divide my wealth I will contact President Obama and hopefully we can share some equal time together discussing the freedom I had in making that decision.

That pecan pie is waiting.............................................. better get a piece before I have to equalize it!

According to scientists an average dairy cow passes 50 - 100 gallons of gasses into the air daily. The $175 would apply to dairy cows with $80 a head for beef cows. The hogs are not left out of the gas problem for they will be assessed $20 each. I would be willing to bet that a government funded study came to this greenhouse gas problem. And some folks just don't understand why we have an economic financial problem............

In 55 BC Cicero said

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance given to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance."

Kind of makes you wonder about all the bailout and stimulus talk being tossed around in Washington, D.C. Guess the Indian had it right! Drink coffee, shoot bull, and leave mess for others.

Absurdity is the only word to describe such actions

Many are screaming they need a bailout; however, some cities have an abundance of taxpayer funds to use in the absurd manner of lobbying against the desires of the taxpayer.

The good folks at AFP report that congratulations are in order for former state representative Fred Hill. It appears he hit a jackpot! "Congratulations, Taxpayers, you may be paying a lobbyist a half million dollars to lobby against you. Former Rep. Fred Hill has a new title—lobbyist. It appears Mr. Hill left the legislature on Jan. 13 and within two weeks had lobby contracts lined up, making as much as over a half million dollars lobbying. We don’t know precisely what he’s making because he isn’t required to report that, even though he’s taking tax dollars. Still, the range is anywhere from $360,000 to almost $675,000." His client list:

City of Allen $25,000 - $49.999.99
City of Coppell $25,000 - $49.999.99
City of Farmers Branch $25,000 - $49.999.99
City of Richardson $50,000 - $99,999.99
Conference of Urban Counties $50,000 - $99,999.99
Texas Association Of Counties $150,000 - $199,999.99
Town of Addison $25,000 - $49.999.99
Town of Flower Mound $10,000 - $24,999.99
and he is still signing others up as clients.

The city of Austin has 15 lobbyists and is paying more than $1 million in lobbying fees.
Houston has 17 lobbyists and is spending as much as $950,000. Dallas has 11 and is spending as much as $450,000, and San Antonio has nine lobbyists, spending more than $800,000. To our knowledge Fred Hill is not representing these cities as of this writing.

What's wrong with this picture?

We taxpayers elect our local, state, and federal officials to work together. We should not have to worry that while we are working hard to take care of our families, earn a living, and pay taxes, some of our hard-earned tax dollars are being used to lobby for policies that raise our taxes, and dig deeper into our pockets.

In a new note from Empower Texans:

"On the one hand, the City of Austin is spending almost $1 million of the taxpayers money to lobby legislators. On the other hand, residents can expect reduced services as the city faces a large budget shortfall. Why not cut out the taxpayer-funded lobbyists?"

40% of the world's people live on

incomes of two dollars a day or less. Can you imagine surviving on $2.00 a day. How would you put food on the table, afford a home, educate your children, handle emergencies and old age? Each and every day, more than a billion people around the world must answer these questions and meet the challenges associated with having a total income of $2.00 a day. Guess what? The poor are creative and innovative and they may struggle, but they find the way. Most don't complain for they know no better way exist. They do what they have to do to provide for their families.

If you have a spare $25.00 you can help finance one who has a small business in parts of the undeveloped world. Try www.kiva.org. $2.00 a day may not sound like much in this part of the world, but $2.00 a day in the undeveloped world is a large sum of money. My experience is 27 loans at $25.00 each since Kiva got started and I have not been stiffed as of this writing. I enjoy the thank you notes and the business updates I receive from the recipients from time to time. The US government should have took note before handing out all the TARP bailout funds.

Stuff those mattresses

Flipping through the channels and came across House of Rep members grilling the bank executives on what did they do with the TARP money. I found this most comical in nature. After all if you give your grandkid a $5 bill to spend, and then after he/she has spent the money you ask him/her what they spent it on. They respond with candy, pop, etc. You say I expected you to spend it on shoes, school supplies, etc. Do you really think you are in the position to ask for the money back when you gave no instructions from the start? You have a committee of folks claiming to represent the American people headed by a NUT in Barney Frank. Most members of the committee were showing off new found knowledge about the banking business.

In utter stupidity most members of the committee showed how unknowledgable they are about basic business matters. Most failed to comprehend that banks are not loaning money now for they will be loaning money that may not be paid back. Banks don't loan money to individuals, businesses, projects, etc. that have a negative risk element. What these fools don't understand is that banks are in business to loan money and make a profit. They make profit when they loan money on projects that have a positive risk element. Banks are not happy right now for they can find few positive risk elements in which to entrust their money in order to turn a profit.

Which came first? Chicken or egg. Who knows, but one thing is for sure you can't have one without the other. The same goes for banks loaning funds. You can't loan money to unemployed people, people who are a credit risk, etc. No bank no jobs and no jobs no banks! Hold on there partner we have a $836 billion government stimulus package on the way to take the place of those banks. Barney Frank and his company of NUTS want to play the role of banker.

We find ourselves in a tidy little mess, and NUTS like Barney Frank think they have the answers. At this point I am not sure anyone has the answers. One thing is for sure, former President Bill Clinton should have fired Alan Greenspan by not renewing his appointment as Fed chief. If Greenspan's appointment had not been renewed I don't think we would be involved in an economic financial meltdown. Now we have the no income tax paying Geithner heading up the Treasury, and he went on TV to lay out a plan to get us out of this banking mess. He delivered nothing but more questions about his ability to comprehend his need to pay his income taxes.

Spending is what got us in this mess. Let me clarify, spending what one did not have is what got us in this mess. Saving is the normal answer in cases like this, but this time we are deeper than we should be for saving to help at this point. Thus the tidy little mess! Just think three years ago we were worried about all those baby boomers spending their retirement savings and creating inflation. Today the baby boomers don't have anything to spend to help us out of this mess. Their retirement savings got the royal flush. It got the royal flush because we let everyone and their dog, cat, pig, goat, cow, mule, horse, rabbit, and goldfish spend money they did not have to start. Everyone is upset now including the dog, cat, pig, goat, cow, mule, horse, rabbit, and goldfish since they can't pay their bills for things they have already consumed, used up, eaten, digested, and deposited in the local junk yard, sewer treatment plant, etc. Wonder if this is what Mufasa had in mine by 'the circle of life'. Most likely not, but it still applies.

Partner, I'm afraid we are in for a world of hurt. Hope you are stuffing those mattresses! I don't think they will be satisfied until they wipe out all those 401Ks.

Park director v. essential services

Camp County Commissioners Court has chosen to fund something that is a non-essential service at the very time it needs essential services. We thought the new county judge would bring a new way of thinking and doing business - FAT CHANCE! I think I voted for this guy. Another one of those goes along to get along kind of guys. Must be lacking in the leadership skill set.

It was discussed at one of the coffeshop round tables that the park board will payback on a quarterly basis the salary of the park directors salary. What kind of sense does this make? A taxpayer funded entity paying back another taxpayer funded entity. How about this as a plan: If we just got to have it rather than 24 hour law enforcement then provide the park board the $30,000 salary and $12,000 benefits money for a period of two years. After two years if the park and the park board are not self sufficient then cancel the funneling of taxpayer funds to a losing venture. If you don't adopt a plan similar to this then the park board will never leave the 'tit', and it will consume more and more of future tax dollars at the expense of essential services like 24 hour law enforcement and repaired county roads.

Does anybody elected to a leadership position in this community ever think?

Congress

An Indian walks into a cafe with a shotgun in one hand pulling a male buffalo with the other.

He says to the waiter: "Want coffee." The waiter says, "Sure, Chief. Coming right up." He gets the Indian a tall mug of coffee.

The Indian drinks the coffee down in one gulp, turns and blasts the buffalo with the shotgun, causing parts of the animal to splatter everywhere and then just walks out.

The next morning the Indian returns. He has his shotgun in one hand, pulling another male buffalo with the other.

He walks up to the counter and says to the waiter "Want coffee." The waiter says "Whoa, Tonto! We're still cleaning up your mess from yesterday.

What was all that about, anyway?"

The Indian smiles and proudly says ..

"Training for position in United States Congress...Come in, drink coffee, shoot the bull, leave mess for others to clean up, disappear for rest of day."

Obama and his no income taxpaying cabinet members

What is it about these guys? First Geithner and now Daschel. Both of these guys should no better. Perhaps the IRS was providing favorable treatment due to their status. If this had been the average 'joe' the IRS would have brought out the hounds in order to get the money into the US coffers. Makes you wonder who is paying their fair share and who is not!

If Obama was any kind of leader he would have asked these guys to step aside. If these guys had any character they would not have put Obama in this situation. After all Bill Richardson withdrew his consideration. It is not just a Demo/Rep thing. This is the lack of moral character in the US society in general today. It is getting harder to trust and give people the benefit of the doubt.

After this piece was pinned former Senator Daschel decided to do the honorable and withdraw his nomination. Now I wonder if the driving force was his honor are the fact he was going to forfeit the $2,000,000 a year he currently draws from the law firm for which he works?

Greed and self-enrichment

http://blogs.bnet.com/secdocuments/?p=242

Folks, greed and self-enrichment on wall street right here in Pittsburg, Texas. While the ship is going down the founders are still lining their pockets.

Saturday, February 7, 2009

How did we get here?

"1) In 1977 the Community Reinvestment bill passes a democrat Congress and is signed by Jimmy Carter. This opened federal dollars to organizations like ACORN.
2) ACORN is the brainchild of a couple of very evil people named Cloward and his wife Piven. They taught their theory to William Rathke and he took it from there. They stated that the best way to take down a capitalist society was to flood the government welfare rolls with massive numbers of poor people. Ask Rudy Giuliani, he dealt with it in New York. Because America was good at being resilient and creating wealth, that idea alone failed, so they changed tactics. They expanded to include MORTGAGES in 1992. They went for the Banking Industry instead.
3) In 1992 Federal Housing Enterprises Regulatory Reform Act of 1992 is passed by a Democrat congress. This gave lots of money to ACORN and also MANDATED to banks, BY LAW that they had to ignore the standard practices of good lending, in other words, you no longer needed to prove income, have a down payment, created the 80/20 mortgages system, and oh also, if you were black it was even more closely enforced, particularly by lawyers that worked for... ACORN, like say Barak Obama? Yea, exactly. So banks are now FORCED to make mortgages they KNOW are doomed to fail.
You see, they use the Mantra, well its for the Poor... you have to help the poor.... its just so SELFISH and so WRONG not to help the poor.....
Uh hua. Sound familiar?
They knew what they were doing. They were loading a great big enema is what they were doing. Keep in mind these people are PATIENT, they are willing to wait 8 years 20 years, 40 years, to further their goals when they get shut down by a Republican Congress or Presidency or both, they just wait, and train up new recruits into their ideology, which is how they created That Arab in the White house named Obama(he is 6% black 50% white and 44% Arab). But as soon as they get a congress loaded with their followers, and one in the white House, which is what we have now, BLAMO we get Porculus.
But before we even get to Porculus, you have to take into account why we are even at this point.
The Mortgage Meltdown. When all these ACORN fed poor people started having trouble holding onto their houses, they began defaulting, surely not something those people wanted to have happen, but the creators behind CRA and the 1992 Bill wanted it. Oh yes they wanted it. They stacked the deck to make CERTAIN it would happen. Why? Simple. Homeowner pays the bank for his house, bank pays other banks THEY borrowed money from to make the homeowners loan possible. Bank 3 buys up bunches and bunches of these loans and sells them to investors here and over seas, after all they are guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the favorites of Democrats and the ripest fattest shiniest cherry in the Democrats Golden Parachute tree. The Government of the United States was guaranteeing the loans, would make the PAYMENTS on the loans if anything “bad” happened. Well, that’s all great till the cost of living goes up and all those adjustable rate mortgages start kicking in. At that point the default rate can and did go right through the roof, in the tens, no hundreds of Millions. Banks had no payment monies coming in, they could not make the payments on their own debts. The river of money suddenly STOPS and banks start failing, they have no money, and no one is lending money, and the House that Jack built falls apart.
DELIBERATELY
Bear Sterns got a Gov. Bailout from the treasury in Aug of 08, Lehman Brothers fails in September 08 and gets NO bailout (the Treasury recognized there was no way they could bail out 1 in every 5 Banks in the United States, let alone the world), and the entire world Financial market just stopped in its tracks.
The United States Government can’t make the payments either, and so we got the 700 Billion Dollar Bailout, which of course, does nothing to fix the problem because banks realize that in order to function they have to have liquid cash on hand, so they KEPT it, and gave NOTHING to the homeowners who were suddenly faced with raising their kids in their cars. There really isn’t anything else they could have done, if they gave the money to the homeowners, they would have still failed, because they only had debts and no way to pay them. Catch 22. This point will be debated in history books for decades to come, right now, no one really knows the full outcome of that, other than it did not work as intended. Meanwhile, homeowners continue to lose their houses and the downward spiral continues.
Wow, talk about a complete disregard for poor people! Talk about setting up a way to make poor people poorer, and increase the number of poor people, well, you could not have planned a better way to do it. But then, this was PLANNED.
Cloward and Piven won.
Businesses start losing business, because Banks aren’t making loans to create new business. They start having problems making Payroll, and so start laying off employees, thereby INCREASING the number of Mortgage failures, AND increasing the demand on the State and Federal unemployment coffers. Now we have a great big GIANORMOUS enema just waiting for us.
That enema is called Porculus, the “Stimulus” bill that will INCREASE the National Debt, thereby REDUCING the ability of the Government to meet its debt obligations (the more debt you have the harder it is to make all the payments), and increasing the likely hood of bringing down the entire Capitalistic system. Oh and will “force” the Government to increase taxes, thereby making us individually just that much poorer. (”Oops can’t afford Heath insurance! Better Nationalize that because we HAVE to....”)
How?
Because once those new renovations for this that and the other thing are done, once that road is repaved, the jobs that it temporarily created DISAPPEAR, they are GONE, because the job is done. So 18 months after the monstrosity is passed, we are right back where we started from, only 1 trillion FURTHER in debt.
But the lawn at the ACORN office looks GREAT!
Meanwhile we get force fed by the Media that it’s GOOD to help the poor, it’s our Obligation to take care of “Those who cannot help themselves”, that Nationalizing (insert industry here) is an absolute necessity because this (industry here) is absolutely necessary! We can’t let THAT fail. Health care for all Americans seems to me to be the most likely thing they will Nationalize first, it’s the easiest to sell really.
When you look at the entire scenario from a Macro perspective, it is obvious that the entire scenario was created deliberately. The individual pieces of the puzzle change over time, from this Liberal president to that, from one leader of the House to the next, from one chairman of the Senate Finance Committee to the next Liberal ACORN swilling sellout to another, the underlying strategy does not change, only the players do, and they build upon the works of those who came before.
I don’t know that we can stop this at this point in our history. The juggernaut is SO HUGE, that I don’t know that it can be stopped. It seems America is out to kill Capitalism, the very thing which made her great to begin with. In the process, we the people pay the price, and its getting higher and more personal by the instant.
Democrat voters who made it all happen are happily snorting up their Kool aide packets, why dilute it with water anyway? Astoundingly, they seem happy about it!
The biggest murderers in history are those who claim to help the poor with one hand while flaying them alive with the other, Socialists. I say to you, you are nothing short of EVIL.
I pray for America, that her leaders will recognize what’s happened and at least TRY to stop it. In the name of anything held sacred at all, if they have an atom of Morality and responsibility left, they will address the REAL problem! I pray they find the fortitude to STOP making it worse! Because that’s exactly what Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Barak Obama, Chris Dodd and every other Socialist in our government is trying to do. It’s up to those not in on this horrific monstrosity to STOP it! It’s not only a moral obligation now, it’s a moral imperative. The lives of millions here and around the world are either going to be forced to take that enema, or YOU will obliterate it. PLEASE OBLITERATE IT! Our lives are in your hands. PLEASE don’t screw this up!"

Urine or you're out

THE JOB - URINE TEST

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their ASS, doing drugs, while I work. . . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

I guess we could title that program, 'Urine or You're Out'.

PISD school board

According to the local rag the PISD school board is acting up again! Seems to be a constant theme. Seems like these guys need to get off their duff and start making some real decisions. At the coffeeshop round table it was discussed that the Intermediate campus only teaches science once a week. When asked the reason why such an important subject is only visited weekly it was reported that one of the principals responded that TAKS/TEKS for science is not tested until Jr. High. SO!

For those who know the importance of an education and how far behind the US has become in the world picture if this statement is true then the principal should be sent packing. You provide your best educational foundation in the years prior to high school. Science, Math, Grammar, and Reading should be taught everyday period. It is a proven fact that a child's curiosity leads to his future career choice. If he/she is not getting the opportunity to be curious in a positive manner in the field of science then most likely they will not pursue a career in the field of science. Not to mention you make the job that much harder for those Jr. High teachers who do teach and prepare for TAKS/TEKS science. Educators today think just 'backasswards' of the way they should be thinking. Must be something being taught in the university system.

There was something to that old school of reading, writing, and arithmetic. Another direct reflection on the poor leadership this PISD board has chosen and continues to allow to exist. Twi-light Super and crew are failing in their roles proper school leaders.

When is the PISD board going to step up to the plate and ask these folks to pack their bags in the name of a better educational system and educational leadership for the sake of the students? The boat needs to be rocked until it turns over!

State Rep Phil King tryng to eliminate the property tax

http://www.empowertexans.com/node/794

State Rep. Phil King has taken a step by introducing a constitutional amendment that would begin devoting a portion of future surplus dollars to property tax relief. Legislators should be encouraged to back HJR 38. These local Super Saving Accounts aka Fund Balances need to be addressed in this legislation as well.

"Your school taxes are twice as high as your city taxes and your local superintendent the snake oil salesman of the district is always looking for a way to cash in on the district greatest asset..Your Children.

We need more buildings, we need more staff, we aren't getting paid enough, we need,we want and therefore we grab the wallets of the taxpayer and throw the education of your children to the dogs. Get rid of term contracts that allow superintendents and administrators to be paid off when they don't do their job. You would be fired at your job for what they do but they get paid and BIG.

Example Cleburne ISD's CFO was a big part of the reason TEA investigated the district for 16 months and found them guilty of federal fund misuse. We have been fined $362,000 so far, put under sanctions and assigned a TEA monitor at $75 per hour paid for by the taxpayers. Where is the CFO? He still works at the district making $102,000 per year or $451 dollars a day. He was a Certified Public Accountant and his dues are paid by Mr. & Mrs Taxpayer. How much has not been examined by auditors yet? Over 15 million. Less than 1 million was audited and 44% of that was deteremined as misuse."
