Effort garners prize

What happened to being judged based upon results? It appears our Nobel Peace prize friends have made an exception and awarded Pres. Obama the Nobel prize for peace based upon effort. At least Jimmy Carter had an end result for his efforts!

Pres. Obama is going to need that Nobel prize when his Cap and Trade legislation (H.R. 2454) is passed and becomes ingrained in our daily lives here the US. Farmers will need to purchase CO2 credits for the methane gas their cows pass into the air. Families will be upset, for we will have to return to the days of burning candles for light. Coal fired power plants will be moth balled by electricity producers due to this legislation. More workers will be sent home for lack of jobs. Wonder if the AFL-CIO is for this legislation?

Back to the farmers. This legislation includes anyone farming, i.e. wheat, rice, watermelons, soybeans, etc. (http://www.afpc.tamu.edu/pubs/2/526/rr%2009-2%20paper%20-%20for%20web.pdf) Yep, the folks at TAMU have already produced a paper on this Cap and Trade issue as it relates to farmers. Look for the necessities of life to increase in price, i.e. food, milk, etc.

The Cap and Traders still argue that it will only affect those companies that continue to use coal in the production of electricity. Perhaps they should read the entire bill and while they are at it they need to re-read the health care bill as well. Bottom line to the consumers in America - higher light bills, higher grocery bills, higher fuel bills, and higher taxes to pay for the folks that are required to oversee this new legislation.

Nobel Peace Prize? Guess effort is better than results any day of the week! Wonder if effort will pay the bills?
