10th Amendment Center

http://www.tenthamendmentcenter.com

This is an interesting site if you are 100% for the rights of states per our U. S. Constitution.

The 10th amendment should be the ultimate check on on federal power. It is clearly stated in a single line:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States, respectively, or to the people."

Sounds clear that most rights in this country rest with the States, and the PEOPLE.

Arizonans' have the right under the 10th Amendment to write their own laws. This will be interesting to see how the federal courts take on the State of Arizona.

States cannot make laws that over ride the Feds responsibility. States cannot Print money or deliver the mail and states do not control the border of other countries. You don't have to like it or agree but thats just the way it is.

I would tend to agree with Outsider for the most part. However, states do have the right to control their own borders. I would agree that states do not have the right to control the borders of other countries; however, once you cross that border the individual then comes under the jurisdiction of the state/federal government at that exact point of crossing if it is into the U.S. and whatever border state is involved.

You suggest that states do not have the right to control their own borders is not something to agree or disagree. It is already codified within the U.S. Constitution and whatever laws are on the books of the particular state the individual choses to enter illegally.
